Sandblasted, acid-etched glass

Contact us!

Over the course of sandblasting, we employ air at high pressure to apply quartz sand to the surface of the glass, as a result of which the glass becomes matt. The depth of sandblasting and the extent to which the glass becomes matt can be changed to develop a unique surface. With the aid of the technology, multi-toned, special patterns can also be developed.

The technology of acid etching has existed since the beginning of the 19th century. Acid etching is a chemical process whereby we treat the surface of the glass. Consequently, the treated section of the glass turns opaque, thus any pattern can be made to appear through this true and tried technology. Its use is diverse, as the structural composition of the acid-etched glass is entirely optional (for example, either a single or multi-layered glass structure can be employed). Its most typical area of application is in the decoration of shower cabins and separator walls. Its advantage – versus sandblasted decorated glass – is the easier cleaning of the surface.

Only one’s imagination limits uses for decoration and use.

SIZE LIMITATIONS

  • Minimal size: 200 x 300 mm
  • Maximum size (height, in case of sandblasting): 2500 mm
